Walt Whitman High School

Model United Nations

January 9-10, 2026

Message from our Secretary-General

Esteemed delegates and faculty advisors,

It is my honor to welcome you to the very first session of WHITMUNC, Walt Whitman High School's Model United Nations conference, set to take place on January 9-10, 2026, at our campus in Bethesda, Maryland.

My name is Renia Ahmed, and I'm a senior at Walt Whitman High School, proudly serving as your Secretary-General for WHITMUNC 2026. I've been a part of Model UN since my freshman year and have held leadership roles for the past three years, currently serving as the President of Whitman's Model UN. Over the years, I've had the opportunity to attend many conferences, earn awards, and grow both as a delegate and as a person. Model UN has taught me so many valuable lessons, from how to collaborate and problem-solve to how to speak with confidence and lead with purpose.

As we prepare to host our very first conference, I'm so excited to create a space where delegates can come together to debate today's most pressing issues. With six engaging committees planned, WHITMUNC will provide a space for delegates to debate global issues, develop creative solutions, and sharpen their diplomatic skills. Watching delegates step up, find their voice, and grow is one of my favorite parts of MUN, and I can't wait to see that happen here at WHITMUNC.

Our Secretariat has worked hard to bring this vision to life, and we are so proud to invite you to be a part of it. Whether you're an experienced delegate or just starting out, WHITMUNC is a place to challenge yourself, collaborate with others, and be part of something new.

If you have any questions leading up to this conference, please feel free to contact us at whitmanmun@gmail.com. We look forward to seeing you this January!

— Best Regards

Renia Ahmed
